A Xavierite’s Pledge

As a true Xavierite, I pledge to always seek God’s greater glory and not my name, fame and personal gain.

I promise to strive for excellence, developing my talents of mind and heart to the full, so as to be, above all, a good human being.

As a person of depth, vision and wisdom, I will discern wisely, always choosing the greater spiritual good among multiple choices.

Selflessly serving with love peoples everywhere, I will rise above narrow domestic walls of caste, class, creed, community, nationality and race to embrace all as my brothers and sisters.

However difficult it may be, I will ever strive to be open to change. Going where there is no path, I will create a new path.

I promise to always keep the poor at the centre of my concerns, fearlessly speaking and acting for what is just and right, never bending my knee to insolent might.

So help me God to be true to my pledge.
