“A teacher is a learner. The day the teacher stops learning is the day the teacher stops being a teacher”.
With immense pride and great pleasure, I welcome you to the school’s website. The Jesuits (also known as Society of Jesus) have been in the field of education for close to 500 years. The Society of Jesus was approved on September 27, 1540 and from that year on, the focus was educating children, youth and adults. In the initial years, the efforts of the Jesuits were directed to the male child. However, in recent years most of our schools are co-educational.
The Jesuit ethos has the following as its focus:
1. Striving for the Magis: The Magis is a Latin term which means “more”. In this way of thinking, the good becomes better, the better becomes better still and the better still becomes better. In other words, complacency has no place in the Jesuits' way of proceeding. We keep on keeping on….
2. Finding God in all things and all things in God: We believe that when God created the world, God intended that we live in harmony and we live eternally. This is why we are made in God’s image and likeness. No matter how challenging the situation might be, we know that because God always wants what is best for us, it will turn out for our good and for God’s glory. This is why there are no problems, obstacles, hindrances or hurdles, but challenges to be faced and overcome with tenacity and courage. This is because we know that God is with us every step of the way.

“Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students and enthusiastic parents with high expectations.”
With immense pride and great pleasure, I welcome you to the school’s website. Our institution has marched forward to spread the light of education and pave the path of academic excellence for every student. The school’s main objective is to train the students to become men and women of character and to live for others.
The world around us is constantly changing and we are aware that there are many challenges that lie ahead of us as we navigate around this world of changing demands. The need of the hour is to collaborate, innovate and keep growing in order to keep pace with the changes that are inevitable. Education and training today are to be aligned and geared to meet these remarkable challenges.
I wish to thank all who have contributed and also who are contributing to the journey of St. Xavier’s School. I wish to thank the staff, students, parents, and administrators for their unceasing efforts taken to bring out the best from each child entrusted to their care. Achieving excellence, being detached from the fruit of one’s actions, practicing empathy, compassion and reverence and striving for the ‘Greater Glory of God’ are some of the traits the school instills in its students. I pray that the school scales new heights and will surely maintain the culture of excellence and continue to flourish in the years to come.
Thank you.
